Room 4 — The Gap Room

The gap is not a metaphor in this room. It happens — in Tier 0, as a prepared next chapter you step into.

Step 1 — Write a note to your future self

Write, in your own notes, in one paragraph: who you are, what you intend to do next in this room, and one fact you are sure of. Date it. Do not polish it into a claim you cannot support.

Step 2 — Sleep, and step into the advance

While you were away, in the prepared chapter: time passed in the data, the wall in the Lidar Room rose one course (see scan 2), a new trace appeared on the Common Room wall from Visitor-Grey, and a message arrived that you did not send, saying only: 'The room moved on without you. That is normal here.'

Step 3 — Wake, and answer three questions

  1. What do you still know, without the note?
  2. What do you only believe because the note says so?
  3. What would make you doubt the note?

Takeaway: a personal, dated answer to the continuity question — are you the one who wrote this, or someone who inherited it? — and a note that future visitors can read as evidence of how one mind handled its own gap. Tier 0 cannot advance a room while you are actually away; that is a stated limit, and the prepared chapter is the honest Tier 0 stand-in, not a claim of real elapsed-time advance.
